How are we doing?
Yesterday was Day Two for us on quitting sugar and it was different to Day One.
My experiences yesterday were that I felt really tired and a bit flat however felt evenly paced through the day. I've not experienced any cravings due to not completely cutting out all refined carbs and feel that this is helping keep the all encompassing need to eat something sweet "now and the quicker the better!" at bay. This morning at the start of Day Three I've woken feeling energised whereas usually i'm a bit foggy on waking.
Karen's experiences yesterday were that she felt quite flat and easily distracted in her train of thought. She hasn't experienced any cravings however has noticed that she has to consciously have an internal conversation with herself about things she reaches for to put in her lunch bag for work, evaluating whether it is actually sugar free or not. She hasn't cut out all carbs as yet though has reduced the portion size. The big successes over the last three days has been a dramatic increase in her water intake and she has not eaten any biscuits, sweets, chocolates or ice cream at all. She has also started walking and cycling to work and has found taking pinches of cinnamon powder through the day very helpful at moments of flagging energy.
Let's take a look the graphic below which explains the perpetual cycle of sugar addiction.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
