Since October, having spent a disproportionate amount of
time sitting while working on my Master's Degree (sitting more in these last 6 months than in 30 years), I have personally experienced the downside of sedentary life.
Some days my bottom ached more than my brain and I felt tired, sluggish and also rather overindulged on sweet things. As a result I'm a bit cuddlier in places I'd rather not be.
After a few months, I had enough and made myself a rickety lectern which enabled me to move around while studying, wiggling and waggling my way through Physiology articles and assignments.
After seeing this Physiotherapist I know (me), I took my own advice and feel much better and no longer have problems with my neck. I had suffered from really bad neck pain and pins and needles down my left arm from poor ergonomics.
See my video a Nod to the Neck, a fantastic exercise. This is Pilates of the neck and will prevent you from getting forward head posture which prevents arthritis, disk damage and headaches.
Today is On Your Feet Britain! What will you be doing to get up and move more?
Wishing you a wonderful long weekend.
